Why Writing Feels So Hard—How to Make It Easier!

Here’s What Embracing Imperfection Taught Me About Writing Success

It’s hard to write, especially when you first start. You have thoughts and plans, but those doubts? It gets loud.

What if it’s not good? What if it’s not good enough?

However, writing, like everything else, needs practice. It will get better as you write more. It’s about facing your fears, accepting your flaws, and moving forward to get better at writing in this story.

I know what you mean; I’ve been there. Since I’ve been writing online for more than four years. I know what it’s like to put things off, not do the work, and think about being successful without doing anything.

But, I finally got it: The only way to get better was to start, even if you’re not ready!

Dealing with Doubt and Perfectionism!

Here’s the hit; you have to deal with self-doubts and wanting to be perfect if you want to succeed as a writer.

1/ Self-doubt gets in the way of writing the most. It can be terrible to be afraid of making mistakes, whether they are in the form of bad language, bad structure, or not getting your point across. At this stage, you’re not even brave enough to begin, aren’t you?

2/ Perfectionism, oh, that thinking of doing things the right way is stopping you. You wait for “the right time” or “the right words.” But guess what? Perfect is not possible. You need to start to get there. And you can’t go on if you feel like you have to make everything perfect right away.

Yes, I agree. Sometimes it’s tough to choose how to begin. Would you like to learn something online? Read a book? Do you need a map?

Oh, No: There are too many choices!

But you know what? The best thing to do is to keep things easy and humble, start from anywhere, and make things better your way.

Get the Motif Right: Why Should You Write Anyway?

It’s not enough to just write words on paper. It lets you say what you want, share your thoughts, and connect with other people.

But if you let self-doubt and the need to be perfect stop you, you miss out on chances to grow as a person, be creative, and even get a job.

1/ Personal Growth: Writing helps you understand your thoughts, think about the things that have happened to you, and talk to other people more easily.

2/ Opportunities in the work world: Writing can lead to freelance work, blogging, or even a job in news or content creation. This skill can help you be more flexible, become more independent, and be more successful.

3/ Creative Satisfaction: Making something important brings a lot of joy. Your words can make a difference, whether it’s a short blog post or a longer project.

How to Get Past the Stuck Points and Start Writing

The good news: you can get better. You have to start somewhere, though, and keep going even if it doesn’t feel right.

1/ Accept That You’ll Make Mistakes: The first draft will never be perfect. That’s fine. It’s important to write down the words. You can go back and make it better once you have something.

2/ Write Every Day: Consistency is key, just like when you’re learning math or Jiu-Jitsu. Even if it’s only for ten minutes a day, write. You will get better the more you do it.

3/ Read and Learn: Reading helps you write well. More reading will help you figure out how to put your own words together better.

4/ Ask for feedback: Don’t be afraid of being criticized. Getting feedback on your work helps you improve it and see it in a new light.

Final Thought: Keep Going and Getting Better

Giving up is the worst thing you can do. Writing is a path that doesn’t have to be perfect, but it does have to go on. You get closer to your goal with every word you write and draft you finish.

Fear of being flawed shouldn’t stop you, though. You should feel free to have questions. You must keep going. You get better at writing every time you do it.

Writing isn’t fun until you get to the finished draft. The real fun is in the growth you experience along the way.

Don’t forget that writing is a process. Accept the process. No matter how little progress you make, it’s a win.

It’s your turn now!
